Privacy & advertising

This policy explains how TerraCalc handles information when you use TerraCalc.app.

Information handled today

TerraCalc does not require an account and does not currently operate contact forms, customer profiles, or a server-side project database. Estimates, project names, language, and appearance preferences are stored in your browser on your device. They are not sent to TerraCalc, and you can remove them by deleting saved estimates or clearing this site’s browser storage.

Like most websites, our hosting and security providers may automatically process limited technical information—such as IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, and security events—to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability.

Analytics and cookies

TerraCalc uses Google Tag Manager to manage consent and approved measurement services. Depending on your privacy choices, these services may include Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Microsoft Advertising UET, and Microsoft Clarity. Non-essential analytics and advertising storage is denied by default and is enabled only as permitted by your consent choices and applicable law.

The calculator remains available when you reject non-essential cookies or block tracking technologies. Calculator events use limited category-level information and do not include project names, contact details, precise measurements, or other free-form content.

Advertising disclosure

Display advertising is not currently active. If TerraCalc enables Google AdSense, advertisements will be clearly labeled. Google and its partners may then use cookies, IP addresses, device identifiers, and ad interactions to deliver, limit, personalize, and measure advertising as permitted by your consent and regional law. TerraCalc provides consent and privacy-choice controls before non-essential advertising technologies are allowed to operate. TerraCalc does not sell personal information.

Sharing and retention

TerraCalc may rely on service providers for hosting, security, and site delivery. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or necessary to protect users, the service, or the public. Browser-stored estimates remain until you delete them; hosting and security logs are retained according to the providers’ operational schedules.

Your choices and rights

You can delete saved estimates from the Projects panel, clear TerraCalc browser storage through your browser settings, and use the site’s privacy controls to review or change non-essential cookie choices. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal information. Because TerraCalc does not maintain user accounts or server-side project records, we may hold little or no information that identifies you.

Children, security, and changes

TerraCalc is a general-audience landscape planning tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage method is completely secure. We may update this policy as the service changes and will revise the date shown above.
